Dear Club Members

Post your views on introducing Entrance Test for CS Course by the Institute. The ICAI has CPT, likewise whether CS Course should also have an Entrance Test instead of Foundation Programme.

Dear Sir,

In my opinion the current pattern of entry into CS course is quite good. As far as i am aware the CPT exam is of objective type, which zeros down the scope of constructive writing. Whereas our institute has subjective pattern of exams in the foundation course, which provides wider scope for improving the writing skills, and further helps in honing the drafting skills at higher level of the course. Since our course structure provides less time for training as compared to that of CA course, the subjective pattern of exams in the foundation makes us better equipped for the future exams as well as training.

In my view the CPT pattern helps to achieve depth of knowledge, but reduces the chance to achieve expertise in representation of the same. Whereas, CS foundation pattern establishes a balance between the both.

With best wishes...
Prashant Samantrai

I feel that the eligibility criteria of 50% in HSC for general & 45% for SC/ST for entry at CS foundation level seems to be outdated in the current conpetitive set up. This may have after effects in the quality of professionals that we will have in future. Hence, to ensure the entry of only those candidates who are serious about pursuing CS, we can havehave an entrance test where we can test their command over the english language as well check their understanding of basic legal drafts..compared to CPT, this exam should comprise of objective (multiple choice questions) for grammar & subjective questions w.r.t drafting..

well, ICSI is not 2 merely follow the footSTEPS of ICAI. ICSI's course curicullum is unique....well, in my view, it is desirable 2 include group discussion....

well i think prashant Samantrai is right. ICSI doesn't need to
follow the ICAI's Steps, instead it can improve its
present pattern of Foundation Exam by including more
objective Questions. it can also improve study material
of Foundation by including section for Caselaws, which
will help student to understand important of Case laws
and at the initial level they will form habit of
remembering Caselaws.Like other healthy changes would do

The concept of independant director is big joke....

In reality independant director's r hand in glove of the MD/chairman....... Sleep
