Is it true that in INDIA, registered company secretaries are ONLY around 25 thousand while registered CHARTERED accountants are above one lakh 60 thousand ?

If it is true, then why CS are being paid less than CA and why fresher CS have to be either very brilliant to get campus placement of very very high salary, otherwise an average company secretary has to wait for decent salary for 5 to 7 years .

ACCORDING to simple economics , more demand and less supply of CS should have made salary of CS HIGHER than CA .

Why is situation not so good ?
and how much are REGISTERED CS in INDIA

Hello, nice posting !

See in India CS profession is born only in 1980. CA profession is born on 1949. There is a huge difference in it.

You are speaking about the great salary of CAs, but, see only 20% of CAs get that. There are n' number of CAs who still work for say 25 K or less per month.

So, dont worry we are also growing. You know, there are many CS who is paid more than 5 lakh p.m !

Thus, dont compare, prove your excellence. Ya, the number of CS is India is only 28500 +. Its not the quantity what counts; its the quality which counts. In short CA is an essential profession; we are a enabling profession. But, in todays' world we dont count the 'essentials', but we count the 'enablers' who can change the culture, who can advise, who can res-structure & who can install a good corporate governance in a company. In fact, CS gives a company a good culture by ensuring compliance, and not numbers or historical data.

It depends on city of job, candidate profile, qua;ity etc. Anyway we can expect 25 K. p.m

Look wat i think is tht CS is a subject of art, so each and every CS is xclusive nd cant be compare
if ur command on language is good
ur drafting is good
ur manipulating skills are gud
ur managerial quality is good then u can be asset to the company, otherwise regular secreterial job is a liability for a company ...n a person who do fixed job get fix salary and d person can be easily replaced... and a person who can handle uncertain thing get any salary he demands...CS just give an oppertunity to get into the board room..and after tht everyone hv its own story.....so try to be jack of all and master of ONE....n u ll get watvr u want

My Guru (Ustaad) is a Practising Company Secretary. He earns more than Rs 20 Lacs per month. More than 25 CA's approach him for their queries. He is a Professional Director of India's No. 1 Local Area Bank Named "Capital Local Area Bank" & Urban Co-Operative Bank & other big financial companies.

It is just a rumor that CA's earns better than CS's. Your earning prospects depends upon what you can actually do for your company/ clients.

Thus, dont compare the salary, compare the skills.
